Carol is our Director of Development, managing fund raising, marketing, public relations, communications, and volunteer engagement functions. Carol has over seven years’ experience in fund-raising roles, beginning as a grant-writer. Prior to serving non-profit organizations, Carol spent 20 years as a Systems Analyst and consultant for various corporations and government agencies. A native of Detroit, Carol earned her B.S. in Engineering from Michigan State University and her MBA from Wayne State University. Carol has been passionate about building capacity for agencies who serve people developmental disabilities since the birth of her son, Jeremiah, who was born in 1997 with Down syndrome. Carol currently serves as a parent volunteer for the National Association for Down Syndrome, a board member of The ARC of Illinois, and a board member of Supported Employment for Youth with Learning Disabilities.
