Gerry Beagles became the Executive Director of Garden Center Services in May 2003 and has accumulated over 30 years working in the field of developmental disabilities. He proudly began his career as a direct support staff at a state operated facility that supported children with developmental disabilities and mental illness. He has a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and a master’s degree in Developmental Counseling from the University of Illinois. Gerry spent over 20 years with the Illinois Division of Developmental Disabilities, culminating with his position as the top administrator of the Chicago Metropolitan Networks where he oversaw 80 disability services providers. Moving over to the provider side of the service system, Gerry has served at the Search Developmental Center and Trinity Services in Joliet, Illinois. This program served adolescents with dual diagnosis (DD/MI) in an intensive clinical model based on Functional Analytical Psychotherapy.
