Sheryl graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She worked with mentally ill children at the Public Health Department before seeking out a job with the developmentally disabled.  She became interested in the field after having discussed volunteering with the Special Olympics.  She gained employment at Garden Center Services in September 2000 as the Qualified Human Services Professional at the agency's Intermediate Care Facility (ICF).  Since then, she has improved the services that the ICF provides by providing more of a home and holistic approach to long term care. In 2003, she took the National and State testing to become a Nursing Home Administrator and passed both on her first attempt.  She has since been the agency's Director of ICF Services and continues to raise the bar of long term care.
